About Me

Business Life

To keep this brief, I am an entrepreneur. I own and manage a small private venture capital firm, that holds interests in health clubs, nutritional supplement research and development companies, medical and laboratory safety distribution, among others. Although Consultant may be my primary “occupation”, I spend a lot of time mentoring other entrepreneurs.

I view my biggest professional successes to be the ones in which I helped others succeed.

Personal Life

My name is Jacob Tippetts, and I am many things. I am a husband to my beautiful wife Melissa. We will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary next year.  I am a very proud father of two amazing adult children; my son Chase (24) and my daughter Sydnee (22). I am an avid reader and study History, Psychology, business, and scripture. I hold my private pilot license. I’m a pretty reserved person by nature, but when comfortable with either topic or company, I feel equally comfortable whether at the front of the room or listening quietly in the back. I am a dreamer and a thinker, equally blessed in both arenas. I am a capitalist with a true passion for teaching concepts of financial freedom and self reliance.

To make a long story short, I am a man who loves his life! I am happy, free and in control of my own destiny, and I cant think of anything I’d rather be.

“Think of your brethren like unto yourselves and be familiar with all and free with your substance that they may be rich, like unto you.” Jacob 2:17

Accomplishments

Recognized as one of Utah’s Forty under 40 in February 2014.

“Jacob Tippetts was leading Las Vegas-based Freedom Investment Groups, a firm that specializes in the purchase and sale of residential properties, when the Great Recession hit. “Working through the craziness of the real estate bubble that rocked the nation, and especially Las Vegas, was by far the most challenging time of my career,” he says. Though he lost nearly everything, Tippetts worked through the hard times and has since created a highly successful private equity firm, CoLegacy, which invests in startups and small businesses.”

“My private equity firm invests in other entrepreneurially minded people and companies,” Tippetts says. “Ultimately our goal is to grow our fund aggressively but safely by keeping a strong focus on active participation in our projects.”
